Homotechnologies hold a great future. The advancement of homotechnologies will trigger a new technological revolution that will impact every facet of our society. However, one should not assume that such research began only recently; indeed, investigations in this field have been underway for a very long time. An analogy can be drawn here with the discovery of electricity. Electrical phenomena were known even in the ancient world; as early as the time of the ancient Greek philosopher Thales, the property of amber to attract small scraps of wool was already being described. Yet, for the two millennia that followed, humanity remained at a loss as to how to harness this effect. The development of electrical technologies required—at the very least—a rudimentary theoretical framework, as well as a series of pivotal experiments. This breakthrough did not occur until the 17th century. Even then, another two hundred years would pass before a modern theory of electricity was finally established.
We now stand at the dawn of the era of homotechnologies—an era that will define the development of humanity over the next several centuries.
The first major breakthrough in the practical application of projection powders occurred in the late 1960s.
